Guarding our Minds Against End-Times Fears

By Kathy DeGraw

Fear is something that has attacked all of us at one time or another.

Fear was a stronghold that had developed in my life. I spent years getting delivered from fear by listening to the Holy Spirit and being in the presence of the Lord. One day I heard in the spirit the Lord say, “Kathy, if your mind is so full of Scripture, there will be no room for fear.”

Fear is the opposite of faith, and we need faith as we approach the end times. Our world certainly is not the same as when we entered it. We don’t have the peace we once had; there are many things that are going on, some that we visibly see and some we don’t.  As we continue to approach the end times, I believe things will be heightened, and there will be situations in which we will have a natural tendency to fear.

I have spent the last five years building my faith and trust for the end times in which I believe we are going to face some things that will shake our faith and rile us up.  What are you doing to prepare for the place God wants you to have influence? If we want to share our faith and be a witness for Christ in the end times, we need that unmovable, unshakeable faith. We need to build our faith with all diligence.

Trusting God in the End Times

In the Complete Jewish Bible, the word faith is replaced with trust. I think it is very interesting when you insert the word trust instead of faith how it brings forth new meaning. We need to trust.

I believe trusting God is going to be instrumental for the times we are approaching; in fact, I think trusting God is important now. Why wait to trust God? What the Lord was showing me during these years of preparation is if I can’t trust Him now in the little things how am I going to be able to trust Him later when my life, provision, or other circumstances depend on it.

As Christians, we need to trust Him and not fear so that when chaos happens, we can truly be the light.  How can we be the light of Christ and exude His unfailing love if we are bound in fear? We can’t be the difference the world needs to see if we are acting just like them.

God Will Equip Us to Bring Peace to People

I believe God can and will equip us to rise above our situation and bring peace to people’s lives when we feel as if there is no peace, but it starts with us finding peace within our own souls.

What are you doing to prepare to live in peace when a catastrophe happens, when world events shift and change, and when natural disasters occur?

We must get in the Word now and know His promises, so we have faith and trust in God our Father to be our protector and guide.  We live in dark times.  Things aren’t as light as they once were, but we can still be the light.
